A couple of weeks ago I did have a Zyliss sort of onion-puller thing which I struggled with a little bit. I found another gadget from Zyliss in the cupboard, I forgot about it, I’ve had it for like 10 years! It chops up onions.

It’s so simple to use, just put the mango straight in the base and place the blade right over the top of it. Push down, and the blade cuts right around the pip. All that’s left to do is to munch down on the mango, I love it.

How it works is easy. Cut the top of your pineapple straight off, line it up about centre, just push it down and start turning – trying to keep it straight. Go all the way down to the bottom of the pineapple and pull the peeler out once you’re done. Once you’ve pulled the peeler out, take the handle off and slide the pineapple rings down and off the peeler. Now that is genius.
